Clinical Observation of Transparent Lens Phacoemulsification in the Treatment of High Myopia

Abstract

Objective:To investigate the transparent lens phacoemulsification efficacy and safety of combined with intraocular lens implantation for high myopia.Method:29 patients(43 eyes) with high myopia were selected in our hospital from January 2013 to July 2013,they were treated with transparent lens phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation.The average age of all the patients was(51.93±6.89) years old,preoperative corrected vision was(0.46±0.18)D,the average degree of myopia was(-10.94±6.14)D,the mean corneal astigmatism was(-1.04±0.67)D,the mean axial length was(27.73±2.12)mm.Result:All patients visual acuity improved after operation;postoperative visual acuity was(0.69±0.17)D,compared with the preoperative,the difference was statistically significant(t=5.9987,P0.001),the average postoperative myopia was(-1.73±0.77)D,basically in agreement with preoperative reservation diopter,the mean postoperative corneal astigmatism was(-1.23±0.66)D,there was no statistically significant difference compared with preoperative(t=1.2963,P0.05).Patients were followed up for 3 months,without the occurrence of posterior capsular opacification,no retinal hole,retinal detachment and macular cystoid edema.Conclusion: Transparent lens phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation is safe and effective for high myopia,with good visual acuity,fewer complications,prediction accuracy and stability of the refractive state.
