Abstract

Objective:To improve CT diagnosis of thyroid nodulous lesions by analyzing the CT characteristics of 201 cases with thyroid nodules retrospectively. Methods:CT findings of thyroid nodulous diseases confirmed surgically and pathologically in 201 cases were observed retrospectively, and the CT features were evaluated with different window levels and widths on PACS by 3 radiologists independently. Results:Differences of the CT characteristics between the benign and malignant nodules of the thyroid gland showed statistical significance (P0.01).Malignant nodules were more often ill-defined,hypodense,irregular,solid and infiltrating, contained micro-calcification and revealed metastatic lymphyadenopathy (P0.01).The peak value of enhancement amplification of malignant nodules was considerably lower than that of adenoma. Conclusion:CT is an efficient and reliable imaging method for detection and differential diagnosis of thyroid nodules.Mastering the CT features of various thyroid nodules can improve the accuracy of differential diagnosis.
