Abstract
The isobutyl propionate was synthesized from propionic acid and isobutyl alcohol in the presence of TiSiW12O40/TiO2. The reaction conditions are tested. The results showed that TiSiW12O40/TiO2 was a excellent catalyst for synthesizing isobutyl propionate. The better conditions were as follows: molar ratio of isobutyl alcohol to propionic acid is 1.2∶1,the quantity of catalyst is 2.0% of feed stocks, the reaction time is 1.0 h in the temperature 106~125 ℃, the yield of ester can reached 79.1%
