Clinical evaluation of somatostatin in treatment of acute mild pancreatitis

Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of somatostatin in treatment of acute mild pancreatitis.Methods Sixty-two cases with acute mild pancreatitis were randomly divided into the trial group and the control group: the trial group received routine therapy combined with somatostatin and the control group with octreotide.Results The clinical effective rate was 93.7% in the trial group and 93.3% in the control group,and there was no statistical significance between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusions Somatostatin is effective in treatment of acute mild pancreatitis.
