Efficacy of somatostatin combined with growth hormone in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis

Objective To evaluate the curative effect of somatostatin combined with growth hormone in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis. Methods The patients in our hospital with severe acute pancreatitis were randomly divided into two groups, the control group (15 cases) was given somatostatin treatment. The observation group( 15 cases) was given somatostatin combined with growth hormone treatment. The hospitalization time, the symptoms disappeared time, blood amylase began to decline and returned to normal time, the incidence of complications, transfer, and the death number were detected. Results Those index of the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion The combination of somatostatin and growth hormone in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitisis is an effective method.
