The clinical observation of tiopronin on treatment in patients with chronic hepatitis

Objective: To explore the effect of tiopronin on treatment in patients with chronic hepatitis. Methods: 60 cases of patients with chronic hepatitis were divided into two groups,the treated group and the control group,which were administered with tiopronin or diammonium glycyrrhizinate for 2 weeks respectively. The clinical findings,liver function and side effects were observed. Results: The total effective rate in the treated group and the control group were separatly 90%,93% (χ 2=0.218,P 0.05). After the treatment with tiopronin,it showed improvement of the liver function,especially the level of serum albumin (ALB) increased and showed significant difference compared with the control group (F=9.070,P0.001). No severe side effect was observed. Conclusion: Tiopronin is save and effective in patients with chronic hepatitis.
