Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic effect and safety of tiopronin on chronic hepatitis B(CHB).Methods:80 cases CHB were devided randomly into two groups on the average. The treatment group was treated by tiopronin 0.2g with intravenous drip once a day for four weeks,The control group was treated by diammonium glycyrrhizinate 150mg with intravenous drip once a day for four weeks.and liver function including alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)activities, the levels of serum total protein(TP),total bilirubin(TBi),hepatic fibrosis index and prothrombin activity(PTA) were measured respectively. The results of two groups were compared. Results:the therapeutic effect of the treatment group were evidently prior to the control group in recovering liver function and clinical symptoms improved obviously in treatment group.Treatment with the drug was associated with a significant improvement in abnormalities of serum transaminase and HA.The obvious effective rates were 50%(20/40)in the treatment group,and25%(10/40)in the control group, respectively. The total effective rates were 85%(34/40)in the former and 47.5%(19/40)in the later, respectively.Significant difference in therapeutic effect was found between the two groups(p0.01).Conclusion:The present data suggest that tiopronin improves the liver function with few side effect and has a good therapeutic effect and anti-fibrosis on patients with CHB during short-term study.
