Abstract

SDS-PAGE detection was conducted on 38 shares of wild emmer from Israel and it was found that their high molecular weight glutenin subunits(HMW-GS) had higher genetic diversity.18 types of confirmable subunit variations appeared on the loci of Glu-A1 and Glu-B1.Among them, subunits 1 and 2*(with occurrence frequencies 60.53% and 13.16%) on A1 locus and subunits 13+16,14+15 and 17+18(with occurrence frequencies 26.32%,7.89% and 2.63%,respectively) on B1 locus were high-quality subunits. In addition, many peculiar subunit types rare in common wheat were found, such as 6+8*,7*+9,6+9*,7+9*,20,22,etc.And one new unnamed subunit type occurred in two shares of materials.
