The subjective fighting spirit leading to Hu Feng's tragic fate is the core of Hu Feng's modern cultural character and realism theory,involving meanings at three levels: his world outlook,his attitude towards life,and his method of literary creation,which mainly results from the cultural and ideological struggle within the Left-wing scholars in the then historical context.As regards the historical mission of new literature,the acceptance of the world advanced culture,the remodeling of intellectuals' ideology,and the Party's leadership over literature and art,etc.,Hu Feng was clearly constrained in his literary view and somewhat divergent from the dominant idea of the Left-wing.
