Abstract
Liu Rong, who was an important member of the founders of the Xiang Jun Jituan (the local recruited military forces group of Hunan Province in the Late Qing Dynasty), was familiar with his erudition and ambition in the society of late Qing Dynasty. On the aspect of study, he defend the sect of Cheng-Zhu Idea of Li tenaciously, at the same time, he excluded the strained interpretation of Sinology and the deep meditation of Lu-Wang' theory. Because he abided strictly by Cheng-Zhu Idea of Li, what's more, he adorned the Rite,he made great contribution to the revival of Cheng-Zhu Idea of Li in the Xianfeng and Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, also enhanced the characteristics of the style of study of Hunan. His academic thought exerted far-reaching influence to the realm of ideology of Hunan in late Qing Dynasty.
