Abstract

Objective:To observe the effects of losartan on the microalbuminuria in patients with essential t hypertension. Methods:One hundred and ten patients with primary hypertension with microalbuminuria were ran- domized into groups of therapy(n=56) and controls(n=54).After12 weeks of medication with losartan ,two groups of patients were compared regarding the variation of blood pressure and 24 hours microalbuminuria levels. Results:The 24 hours microalbuminuria levels and blood pressure were decreased significantly in patients with medication of losartan as compared with their previous and the two groups were different statistically. Conclusion:losartan can effectively reduce the blood pressure and protect the renal function from early impairment.
