Western Culture and the Change of Modern Novels

Western culture had a great influence on Chinese modern literature.It not only influenced people's views on literature,but also urged the literary production to change.The literary styles of modern novels changed greatly from the following aspects:The types of novels were extended,and there were political novels,detective stories, scientific novels and so on;On the narrative patterns,the limited narration,first person narration and flashback came into being;The structures were no more limited in couplet head full-length stories;The circumstance description was strengthened;Artistry were derived from the western novels.All above lay a foundation for Chinese traditional novels to modernize,promoting Chinese novels taking on a new stage during its modernization .
