Government Performance Evaluation:Status Quo and Prospect of Development

Government performance evaluation,a new type of governmental administration,with the emphasis of result orientation,to some extent speeds up of the effectiveness of governmental administration,strengthens the service ability of government,and improves the relationship between the government and the public in the Western countries.This very effectiveness brings forth a global enthusiasm for government performance evaluation.In China,government performance evaluation becomes not only a hot academic topic but also an important measure for government branches to implement the measures of administrative innovation.However,such issues as the nativization of the Western experience of government performance evaluation in China,the combination and systematization of enterprise performance evaluation and governmental public administrative features,the exploration of constructing government performance evaluation and measures with distinctive Chinese characteristics and the elimination of systematic obstacles in the implementation of government performance evaluation,urgently need to be studied from the theoretical and practicing perspectives and reach the common understanding based on the thorough communication.
