Abstract

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effects of traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods:Retrospective analysis of 122 hospitalized cases was made,60 cases in the control group were treated with conventional western medicine, and 62 cases in the Chinese medicine group were treated with traditional Chinese medicine in addition to western medicine.Clinical effects and pulmonary function of the two groups were compared. Results:The clinical total effective rate of Chinese medicine group was 90.3%,which was higher than that(76.7%)of control group and showned significant statistical difference(P0.01).After treatment both FEV1 and FVC of the two groups were improved and FEV1 and FEV1% of Chinese medicine group increased significantly(P0.05).Total score of symptoms and signs in Chinese medicine group was significantly lower than in the control group, the difference being statistically significant(P0.01).Conclusion:Combination of Chinese and western medicine has better therapeutic effects on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
