Abstract

The preparation of 4-diethylaminobenzoic acid by Friedel-Crafts reaction from BTC and N,N-diethyl baniline in the presence of anhydrous AlCl_ 3 as catalyst was studied. The effects of distinct kind of catalyst, ratio of raw materials, reaction temperature, ect on the reaction yield were investigated. The purity and yield of product were 99% and 56%.
