Abstract
This aims at finding the role of running up in triple jump through the study of the excellent male athletes in the field of the triple jump at home and abroad. The results of the study indicate that the achievement an athlete can acquire is closely related to the speed of his running up. The faster his running up is,the greater an athlete's achievement is. In fact, to what extent do the excellent athletes make use of the speed of their running up and reduce the lose of their level speed can be regarded as the important index to their skills in triple jump. As the 'Run and Jump' skill accords with such a demand of triple jump, it reflects the development trend of the skill in triple jump.
