Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between coagulation markers level on pathophysiological characteristics and prognosis in patients with lung cancer.Methods The plasma levels of coagulation markers were detected in 60 patients with lung cancer and in 20 normal controls.Results The plasma level of fibrinogen in patients with lung cancer was significantly higher than those of the normal controls (P0.01). There was no significant difference between the plasma levels of prothrombin time and active partial thromboplastin time and those of normal controls. The plasma level of prothrombin time in the patients with lung cancer showed significant difference in sex. The plasma levels of coagulation markers were not related to age, sex, histological classification, the size of the primary tumors, P-TNM stages, and distant metastasis. The plasma level of fibrinogen in the patients with lung cancer were negatively correlated to survival time (r=-0.32,P0.01).Conclusion Elevation of plasma levels of fibrinogen exists in patients with lung cancer. The plasma level of fibrinogen is negatively correlated to the survival in patients with lung cancer. The anti-coagulability medicine treatment may be benefitial for the patients with lung cancer.
