Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinicopatholocal features and immunophenotypes of primary intracerebral malignant lymphoma(PIML).Methods 12 cases of PIML were collected with clinical and follow up data to observe the clinicopathological features and immunophenotypes. All cases were analysed by means of immunohistochemical staining using such monoclonal antibodies as LCA,L 26 ,UCHL 1,CD 30 ,CD 68 ,S 100,and GFAP.Results The morphology of all cases of PCNSL resembled intranodal lymphomas, but no lymphoid follicles were found.Tumor cells presented an appearance of accumulating around blood vessels like muff.LCA and L 26 were positive in all cases ,but other monoclonal antibodies showed negative. Conclusions This group of PIML were all B cell lymphomas.Tumor cells presenting such features as inhomogenous distribution, accumulating around blood vessels,LCA positive while GFAP negative were helpful in diagnosis of PIML.
