Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation of Helicobacter pylori(HP) infection with clinicopatholgical characteristics of remnant gastric cancer. Methods According to the endoscopic finding and pathological characteristics,49 remnant gastric cancer patients and 42 gastric cancer patients were diagnosed.HP infection was detected with rapid urease test(RUT).Results In remnant gastric cancer patients,28 poorly-differentiated adenocarcinoma patients(57.14%) were detected.Other pathologial types including 3 papillary adenocarcinoma patients(6.12%),6 tubular adenocarcinoma patients(12.24%),8 moderately-differentiated adenocarcinoma patients(16.33%),2 highly differentiated adenocarcinoma patients(4.08) and 1 signet-ring cell carcinoma(2.04%) were detected. The HP infection rate in remnant gastric cancer group was lower than the rate in gastric cance group(P0.01).In patients with remnant gastric cancer, the HP infection rate(41.67%) in BillrothⅠgroup was higher than that of BillrothⅡ group(10.81%). Conclusion The main pathological type of remnant gastric cancer may be poorly-differentiated adenocarcinoma;HP infection may not be corelation with remnant gastric cancer;bile regurgitation caused by Billroth Ⅱoperation may be one of etiological factors in remnant gastric cancer.
