Abstract
Shen Congwen is a writer with humanitarianism in the history of modern Chinese prose. His works describing Xiangxi (west Hunan Province), his hometown, are his representative ones, which have a strong life consciousness, and entirely combine the human nature and superhuman nature. So his thoughts on the human nature are combined with Xiangxi people's ideal puisuit of gazing at the landscape in the distance, and are particularly mixed in the show of the unique natural and social features of Biancheng ( the border area), forming a unique picture about the good and evil human natures in Xiangxi literature.
