Abstract
As the product and the demand of social life, morality is social in essence, but it cannot thereby offset the significance of individual morality. Moral need, which is unique to humanity, is indeed one of the fundamental human needs and the ground for the change from moral heteronomy to moral autonomy. Individual moral need is an advanced need stemming from the common, the requirement of a well-integrated person, and the means of and the premise to attaining a happy life. Thus, moral should focus on individual moral need to get rid of some mistaken ideas about standardized moral education , upgrade the moral need of the educated and cultivate the moral integrity of individuals.
