Abstract

The plankton community and water quality in Fuhe River estuary was investigated from April to May 2009.Based on the dominant species evaluation method and Saprobic System, combined with chemical assessment to evaluate the eutrophication of Fuhe River estuary. A total of 230 species plankton, which belong to 11 categories were identified. The dominant species method and Nutritional status of chemistry Index indicated that fall of the monitoring points tookon europhication.Saprobic System research shown that the forks of Fuhe River downstream and east branch estuary are between multi-pollution zone and β-mesosaprobic zone, while west branch estuary was in multi-pollution zone.Compare with the diversion, there were much more species and higher density in estuary. Estuaries also increased Chrysophyta,Xanthopyta and Pyrrophyt. These shown estuary europhication degree was heavier than Jiaoshi Dam,especially west branch estuary.
