Abstract
Before the flood season of 2008,the sediment-runoff regulation is operated successfully with the water storages over limit water-stage in flood season in Wanjiazhai,Sanmenxia and Xiaolangdi Reservoirs. The flood discharge in this sediment-runoff regulation is the largest one in recent years and over 4000 m3/s at different stations in downstream of Yellow River. The flood carrying capacity is enlarged further and the whole reach scour of the main groovy is realized along the Lower Yellow River. The flood and sediment courses of the main cross-sections are introduced and the silt accumulation in the lower Yellow River are analyzed in this paper. There is about 4.2 billion m3 runoff through the Huayuankou Hydrometric Station,19.6 million t sediment is soured from the Lower Yellow River and about 64.92 million t sediment is sent to the Sea.
