Abstract
Using H2O2 as an initiator, the effects of reaction temperature, reaction time, initiator dosage, air flow and stirring speed on the acid value of oxidized paraffin wax were investigated. The results showed that the stirring speed and air flow are little effect on the reaction. When the concentration of initiator is 5%,reaction temperature is 150 ℃,reaction time is 8 h,air flow is 200 mL/min,the oxidized paraffin wax with acid value of 32.1 mg KOH/g can be achieved.Compared with the stearic acid as the initiator, the modified oxidized paraffin wax is light color and less smell,it can be used to produce stable emulsion wax replacing natural bee-wax.
