Clinical research on oxaliplatin combined with epirubicin and 5-FU for patients with multiple metastatic gastric cancer

The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of the regimen of oxaliplatin combined with epirubicin and 5-FU(EOF) in the treatment of patients with multiple metastatic gastric cancer.Thirty-six patients who were pathologically confirmed as multiple metastatic gastric cancer received the chemotherapy of the regimen:oxaliplatin 100 mg/m2,ivdrip,2 h,d1;5-FU 500 mg/m2,ivdrip,4 h,d1-d5;epirubicin 50 mg/m2,drip,d1,three weeks as one cycle,and for three circles.Thirty-six patients were enrolled,all of which were evaluable for efficacy and toxicity.Totally 125 circles were received,and average 4.5 circles per patient.Among them there were 3 patients (8.3%) with CR and 13 patients (44.4%) with PR,and the overall response rate (CR+PR) was 52.6%,SD 22.2%(8/36),PD 25%(9/36),KPS improved more than 20 scores by 38.9%(14/36),and CBR improved by 50.0%.The main toxicity was bone marrow suppression:19.4%(7/36) of patients with Ⅲ/Ⅳ degree neutropenia,11.1%(4/36) of Thymocytopenia,8.3%(3/36) of anemia,8.3%(3/36) of nausea and vomiting,2.8%(1/36) of diarrhea and 11.1%(4/36) of Neuropathy.In conclusions,the regimen of oxaliplatin combined with epirubicin and 5-FU(EOF) is effective and tolerable in the treatment of patients with multiple metastatic gastric cancer.
