Abstract

Nylon66/montmorillonite nanocomposite was prepared through melt intercalation. Mechanical and heat properties were tested; and the structure of montmorillonite in the polymer matrix was studied by means of XRD and TEM. The result indicates that montmorillonite can disperse well in nylon 66 at the size of 10-100 nm, and the properties of the nylon 66/montmorillonite nanocomposite are superior to those of nylon 66.
