Abstract

The theoretical basis of breeding compact type waxy corn tolerant to close planting, requirements of desirable plant types and breeding methods were systematically summarized, and three heterosis patterns were proposed on the basis of germplasm innovation of compact type waxy corn tolerant to close planting, establishment of new germplasm groups, and breeding of inbred lines.
