Relationship between bFGF and Survivin in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

Abstract

Objective: To detect the role and the clinical significance of bFGF and Survivin in oral squamous cell carcinoma through observing the relationship between the expression of them in oral squamous cell carcinoma. Methods: Expression of bFGF and Survivin in 42 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma(14 cases with lymph node metastasis) and 10 cases of normal oral mucosa were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: bFGF was detected in 29(69.05%) cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma while Survivin were detected in 34(80.95%) cases. Co-expression rate of bFGF and Survivin was 61.90%(26/42). The positive expression degree of them were related to each other significantly. Conclusion: bFGF and Survivin may play an important role in the development of oral squamous cell carcinoma together.
