The effect of amiodarone combined with atorvastatin on CRP and recurrence rate of atrial fibrillation for patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation

Objective To investigate the effect of amiodarone combined with atorvastatin on CRP and recurrence rate of atrial fibrillation for patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.Methods 46 patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation were randomly divided into study group (given treatment of amiodarone combined with atorvastatin) and control group (given treatment of amiodarone),23 cases in each group,all patients got 1 year follow-up visit.The change of CRP,left atrial diameter,and sinus rhythm maintenance rates were observed after treatment.Results CRP of the two groups were significantly reduced (P0.05) after treatment,the difference between the two groups was also statistically significant (P0.05);left atrial diameter before and after treatment had not changed significantly (P0.05);the maintenance rate of sinus rhythm in study group was significantly higher than control group in 1 year after treatment (P0.05).Conclusion The occurrence and recurrence of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation may be related to inflammation,amiodarone combined with atorvastatin can effectively reduce CRP and recurrence rate of atrial fibrillation.
