Abstract
As the antithesis of new liberalism in the contemporary western society,communitarianism appeals to the importance of community and common interests.It has things in common with socialist collectivism.The author analyzes its realistic background and value demands which is a certain experience for properly handling the relationship between individual and collective interests in the new socio-economic conditions,and for enriching and improving our collectivist values in China.
