Effect of minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy on upper urinary calculi

Abstract

Objective: To explore effect of minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy on upper urinary calculi.Methods:Clinical data of 80 cases with upper urinary calculi admitted from December 2008 to December 2010 were analyzed retrospectively.All patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group by half.Patients in observation group were treated by minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy;while patients in control group were treated by conventional lithotomy.The success rate and removal status were observed and compared.Results: A total of 39 patients had calculi cleared(97.5%),and the stone-free rate was 100%.In observation group,which were significantly higher than those of control group(P0.01).There was no significant difference in length of stay(P0.05).And the incidence of complication was significantly lower in observation group(P0.01).Conclusions:Minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy is of minimal incision,high success rate and low incidence of complication.It is effective on treating upper urinary calculi,and is worthy clinical application.
