Abstract

Objective To explore the value and the clinical application of spiral CT angiography(SCTA) in aortic lesions. Methods 87 cases suspected aortic lesions were performed with SCTA.54 cases were documented by operation and 49 cases were examined by MRA and Doppler echo.18 cases were examined with X-ray angiography(XRA)(including 8 cases by DSA).All data were transfered to the VQ workstation and were accomplished reconstruction. Results In 87 cases, there were 48 cases of aortic dissection,23 cases of aortic aneurysm,2 of with traumatic pseudoaneurysm,3 cases of congenital aortic coarctation,3 cases of Takayasu's arteritis,2 cases of dextroaorta,3 cases of atherosclerosis and 3 cases were normal. Conclusion Being an almost non-invasive angiographic technique,SCTA images could clearly visualize the aortic lesions and almost replace conventional angiography especially in diagnosis of aortic dissection and aneurysm, and play an important role in providing accurate anatomy information and follow-up in postoperation.
