THE DIAGNOSTIC VALUE OF SPIRAL CT ANGIOGRAPHY OF THE AORTIC ANEURYSM AND THE AORTIC DISSECTION

Objective To Evaluate the diagnostic value of spiral CT angiography of the aortic aneurysm and the aortic dissection.Methods 32 cases with clinical suspicion of the aortic lesions were scanned with spiral CT angiography(SCTA) and conducted by two-dimensional and three-dimensional reconstruction including maximum intensity projection(MIP),multi-planar reconstruction(MPR),surface shaded display(SSD) and volume rendering(VR).Results 7 cases of aortic aneurysm,2 of pseudoaneurysm,13 of aortic dissection and 10 of normal were found within 32 patients.SCTA can clearly show the body of the aortic aneurysm,mural thrombus,calcification of plaques,the true or false cavities of the aortic dissection,tearing endometrium and lacerations,and the relationship between the aorta and the surrounding organs.Conclusion SCTA is of high value in the clinical diagnosis of the aortic aneurysm and the aortic dissection.It helps a lot on the treatment procedure and postoperative assessment of the diseases so that it has basically replaced the traditional angiography.
