Abstract
The Yellow River is the cradle of the chinese nation and also is the birthplace of China's ancient culture. The Yellow River is well known for its heavy sediment, easy deposition, easy breaching and used to bring frequent disaster ridden to the people living along the both sides of the river. The flood control of the Yellow River is always the serious hidden danger of the chinese nation. Sediment is an essential problem of the flood control of the Yellow River. The test of dredging, used as a measure for solving sedimentation, strengthening dykes and building a river with relative low riverbed, has been started based on the summary of experiences of dyke strengthening.
