Abstract
Objective To investigate the role of multiple human papillomavirus(HPV) infections in cervical dysplasia.Methods The cervical samples of 591 women who visited China-Japan Friendship Hospital from August 2004 to May 2005 were randomly selected for 21 HPV subtypes,and the multiple infection rates in different cervical lesions were calculated.Results The total multiple infection rate was 44.6%.The most common models were HPV 52 /58 and HPV16/18 double infection.The multiple infection rates increased with the severity of cervical dysplasia(except for cancer),and are significant higher than the normal group.Conclusion Multiple HPV infection is associated with the development of cervical neoplasia.
