Curative effect observation of children's acute nephritis treated with decoction of salvia astragalus root of five traditional Chinese herbs

Objective: Inquiring into treating acute nephritis with Chinese herbal medicine. Method: 125 cases of children's acute nephritis were divided into treatment group, treated with composition of salvia astragalus root and five traditional Chinese herbs in addition to routine Western medicine and control group with western medicine only. The results were observed comparatively. Result: The clinical curative rate of the treating group and its general effect of 98.3% were higher than those in control group (93.9%), and the course of treatment was shorter and the relapse rate of the clinical treatment was lower in the treatment group than in the latter. Conclusion: In treating nephritis, traditional Chinese medicine combined with the western medicine is effective in enhancing and stabilizing the curative effect, cutting down the course of treatment as well as reducing relapse.
