Abstract

Objective:To study the relationship between the old men's sex hormones and coronary heart disease. Methods:The levels of serum testosterone(T)and estradiol(E_2) were measured in 40 old men with coronary heart disease and 38 healthy old men with the radiative immune means and the results of two groups were contrasted. Results:The capacity of serum testosterone(T) of coronary heart disease patients was obviously lower than that of the healthy men(P0.05),but the capacity of estradiol(E_2)was obviously higher than that of the healthy men(P0.05).Conclusion: The capacity decrease of serum testosterone and increase of estradiol(E_2)are important factors influencing occurrence of coronary heart disease of old men.
