Concentrations and distribution of heavy metals in surface sediment of Luoyuan Bay,Fujian Province

Abstract

According to the related data by environmental survey in Luoyuan Bay in 2005,the concentration and distribution of heavy metals in the surface sediments were studied.The results showed that the concentration of Hg,As,Pb,Cd,Cu,Zn and total Cr were all not better than the first-class standard of marine sediment quality by the Marine Sediment Quality of China.The concentration of heavy metals in Luoyuan Bay was not different from the other waters.The concentration in the inner part of Luoyuan Bay were higher than that in the estuarine,and the concentration alongshore of the bay were higher than that in the center part of the bay.
