Analysis of the Factors Affecting the Farmers' Willingness to Pay for Agricultural Insurance——Based on the Surveying of the Cow and Apple Insurance in Shanxi Province

All kinds of agricultural insurance have been implemented in different regions of China recent years.In July 2007,the cow and apple policy Insurance were implemented separately in Jingyang County and Luochuan County of the Shanxi Province.We surveyed 239 farmers who breed cows or planted apple trees with questionnaires.Through the survey,we predict the factors affecting the farmers' willingness to pay for agricultural insurance.On this basis,we analyze the factors through Logistic Regression Model and find that four factors markedly affect the farmers' willingness to pay for agricultural insurance,including categories of agriculture,whether premium is reasonable,understanding of insurance and income.Then,the measures of increasing categories,giving financial subsidy,strengthening farmers' understanding have been suggested to taken for the further development of the agricultural insurance.
