Abstract

Objective To investigate psychological health status of military university students and the influencing factors, and to provide scientific evidence for mental health education. Methods A questionnaire survey of psychological health status was conducted to a clustered stratified sample of 998 military university students by using Self-Rated Health Measurement Scale(SRHMS),UCLA Loneliness Scale,Beck Depression Inventory(BDI) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS).Results The prevalence rates of depression and anxiety were 71.9% and 65.8% respectively.Statistical significance was found in the scores of SRHMS,UCLA Loneliness Scale,BDI and SAS in different grades(P0.001).The scores of SRHMS were significantly lower in students with depression and anxiety than in students without them.Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that loneliness had negative relationship with birthplace, social support, social resource and social contact, but had positive relationship with depression, anxiety, psychological symptom and negative emotion(P(0.05).) Conclusion More attention should be paid to mental health education so as to avoid various kinds of ill emotion and to improve the health status of military university students.
