RELATIONSHIP OF SELF-RATED HEALTH WITH DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY AMONG MILITARY UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

Objective To learn the epidemiological characteristics of self-rated health and its relationship with depression and anxiety among military university students,so as to provide the basis for psychological health education.Methods A total of 998 military university students were selected by stratified cluster sampling.Questionnaire survey was conducted by using Self-Rated Health Measurement Scale(SRHMS),Beck Depression Inventory(BDI),and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS).Results The scores of SRHMS,BDI,SAS among different grade military university students were differemt(P0.01).The incidence rates of depression,and anxiety were 71.94%,and 65.83% respectively among students.The scores of SRHMS in students with depression were significantly lower than those without depression.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that depression was related to grade,positive emotion,mental symptom and negative emotion,role activity,social accommodation,anxiety(R2=0.523).And anxiety had relationships with grade,physical symptom and organs function,mobile function,social sources and social contact,depression(R2=0.472).Conclusion Self-rated health is related to the emotions of depression and anxiety.Health education according to different health status may improve their health level.
