Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of butorphanol tartrate on post intraspinal anesthesia shivering.Methods Sixty cases undergoing hypogastric surgery and osteo operation from June 2014 to March 2015 were randomly divided into two groups:butorphanol tartrate group(group B,n = 30) and 0.9%NaCl group(group C,n =30).Patients were allocated to receive either butorphanol tartrate 1 mg or 0.9%NaCl 5 mL.The shivering grade and therapeutic effect and side effect was evaluated.Results Shivering degree at 5 min after treatment in group B was significantly lower than that of group C(P 0.05).The therapeutic effect of group B was much better than that of group C(P 0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of nausea and vomiting between the two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion Intravenous administration of butorphanol tartrate 1 mg is safe and suitable for the patients with post intraspinal anesthesia shivering.
