On the cultivation of listening competence in the teaching of English listening

Abstract

In English language teaching, listening is one of the four basic techniques as well as a tough problem to be resolved. How to improve the ability of listening comprehension is what English teachers are most concerned about. This article, in view of the present situation in the teaching of Englishlistening in China, analyzes the influence of learning strategies and trainings related to the abilities of listening comprehension. The successful enhancement of listening comprehension has shown the significance of the cultivation of listening competence in the teaching of English listening.
