Abstract
Objective To observe the expression of VEGF-C and HGF protein in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma,and to explore their clinical significance and correlation with esophageal cancer. Methods The expression levels of VEGF-C and HGF protein in esophageal carcinoma tissue were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results There were significant differences in the expression levels of VEGF-C protein in different depth of invasion,differentiation and TNM staging of esophageal carcinoma( P 0. 05),and the expression positive rates of VEGF-C in the patients with lymph node metastasis were significantly higher than those of patients without lymph node metastasis( P 0. 05). The expression levels of HGF protein in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma were higher than those of normal tissues beside cancer,moreover,which were correlated to the diameter of tumor,depth of invasion,differentiation and lymph node metastasis. The expression of VEGF-C was positively related with that of HGF protein in esophageal cancer tissue. Conclusion The expressions of VEGF-C and HGF protein are closely related to the invasion and metastasis of esophageal carcinoma,furthermore,VEGF-C and HGF may have synergetic effects.
