Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of COX-2 and VEGF in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma and their clinical significance.Methods Expressions of COX-2 and VEGF were observed by streptavidin-peroxidase(SP) immunohistochemical staining method on 60 cases of esophageal squamous carcinoma and 20 cases of normal esophagus tissue.Results Of 60 cases esophageal carcinoma tissue,the positive rates of COX-2 and VEGF were separate 68.3% and 76.7%;were higher than normal esophagus tissue,there were significant differences(P0.05).Through statistics analysis,there was close positive correlation between COX-2 and VEGF expression.The expression of VEGF had a positive correlation with the district lymph node metastasis state,Their expression of COX-2 and VEGF had no relationship with the patients' clinical stage,histological differentiation,and depth of tumor,there were no statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusions The expression of COX-2 and VEGF were both high-grade in esophageal squamous carcinoma.and their expression were significant positive correlation.The VEGF had a positive correlation with the district lymph node metastasis state.
