Abstract

The technical conditions of wastewater treatment in coking plant by the catalytic-oxidation way with ferrous sulfate and hydrogen peroxide were studied. The optimum technical conditions obtained are that the reaction temperature is 30 ℃,the amount of Fe2+ is 200 mg/L,the amount of hydrogen peroxide is 1 000 mg/L,the reaction time is 45 min.The results show that under the optimum technical conditions, the removal rate of phenols and COD are 68.5% and 70.4%,and then calcium hydroxide is added to adjust the pH value of treated waste water to weak alkaline and is flocculated, the mass concentration of Fe ion and CN-decreases remarkably, and COD removal rate increases to 85.2%,the biodegradability of wastewater is improved evidently and the good conditions for following bio-treatment are created.
