Abstract
In this paper,3-furyl-2-hexyl-Acrolein was synthesized by aldol condensation reaction using furfural and n-octyl aldehyde containing α-H.With low toxicity,3-furyl-2-hexyl-Acrolein would substitute toxic and volatile furfural in the epoxy diluent to form environmental-friendly epoxy resin grouting material.Its physical performances of the consolidated substance were investigated preliminarily.Effects of catalyst,reaction temperature,reaction time and the ratio of reactants on the yield were discussed to get the optimum reaction conditions.The results showed that yield of 82.2% was got when reaction conditions were catalyst of 0.5 g/mL(conversed according to the volume of furfural),temperature of 45 ℃,time of 3 h and n(Furfural)∶n(n-Octyl aldehyde)=1∶1.2.The purified product of 3-furyl-2-hexyl-Acrolein was characterized by UV,IR,1H NMR and MS techniques.
