Abstract
Objective To evaluate the application of ferralium in treating renal anemia with erythropoietin. Methods 45 cases of hemodialysis were evenly divided into 3 groups. In addition to the application of erythropoietin, intravenous injection of ferralium was used in Group A,oral administration of ferralium was made in Group B and no use of ferralium was made in Group C.The courses of treatment lasted 16 weeks, and the changes in the levels of hemoglobin and serum ferritin were observed. Results The levels of hemoglobin rose more significantly in Group A than those in other two group (P0.05,P0.01).No significant differences were discovered in Group A and Group B(P0.05).The levels of serum ferritin remained steady in Group A,while the levels of serum ferritin declined in other two groups(P0.01).Conclusion Intravenous injection of ferralium can help to contribute to the storage of iron and promote the reaction of hemoglobin on erythropoietin to effectively treat renal anemia.
