Abstract

There exists a co-integration relationship and a one-way causal relationship between China’s resident charitable donations and the charitable environment. The three important factors, the income level, the development level of charitable organizations and the level of national economic development, are affecting the charitable donations made by China’residents. In the short term, the income level of the residents can exert the most significant influence on the charitable donations;in the medium to long term, the three factors can all exert significant impacts, showing a sign of steady convergence. Therefore,we should increase the income level of the residents through multi-channels,accelerate the development of charitable organizations comprehensively, and optimize the structure of fiscal revenue,so as to create a favorable charitable environment for residents to make charitable donations.
