The Applied Value of the Human Papilloma Virus DNA Checking for Cervical Diseases

Abstract

Objective To investigate the human papillomavirus (HPV) types detected in patients with non-cancer, pre-cancer and cancer lesions at cervix and to analyze the oncogenesis of the various HPV types. Methods 1324 cases was tested by using the HPV Genotyping System, the cervical specimens from 371 patients with HPV infection were collected. All of the patients received Thin-layer liquidbased cytoiogy test(TCT) and colposcopy with multiple biopsy. Acorrding to the cytological and pathological diagnosis,the patients were divided into three groups such as cervical cancer and high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions(HSIL) group, low- grade squamous intraepithelial lesions(LSIL) group, and normal or inflammatory group. The relationship between HPV types and different cervical diseases was analyzed. Results The positive rate of HPV-H rised as cervical diseases deepening, and there was a ascending trend of double or multiple HPV type infection. The infection rates of HPV types 16, 58, 33, 18, 52 and 31 in cervical cancer and HSIL were 59.8%, 15.2%, 12.2%, 9.7%, 9.1%and 8.5% respectively. It showed that HPV-H is closed associated with cervical cancer. Conclusion HPV-DNA genotyping is of great importance in diagnosis and prognosis of cervical disease.
